Lucknow: PM Narendra Modi is likely to visit UP twice this month. According to official sources, the PM will visit Kushinagar on October 20 to inaugurate the international airport. Sources said, the PM's function is being outlined and the first visit is almost ready.

According to the same officials, the PM will inaugurate Kushinagar international airport, which will promote tourism in the Buddhist circuit, as Kushinagar is the place where Lord Buddha breathed his last. The first flight to the International Airport is likely to arrive from Sri Lanka, which has a large Buddhist population. A senior government official said, the Sri Lankan President, other delegates are likely to carry Buddhist pilgrims on the flight.

At the same time, a number of Buddhist temple guest houses have been built around the main temple, also known as Mahaparinirvan Sthal. Prime Minister Modi will also lay the foundation stone of a medical college in Kushinagar. The PM is likely to launch an All India Scheme on Health Infrastructure from Varanasi on October 25. Sources said the PM's focus on the state will continue after October as several projects will be ready for inauguration or laying of the foundation stone. Some of these projects include Purvachal Expressway, Bundelkhand Expressway, and several medical colleges.
