New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday (June 8, 2023) inaugurated the East Delhi campus of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) in the capital. During this, when Kejriwal reached near the mic to address the people, the people present there started shouting slogans of 'Modi... Modi...'. Seeing this, the expression of CM Kejriwal's face disappeared and then he took care of himself and told  the people that 'do all this later.'

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena and BJP MP Gautam Gambhir were also present on the dais. During this, CM Kejriwal was listing the achievements of his government in the field of education, during which some people started shouting slogans of 'Modi... Modi ...'. During this time, an attempt was made to calm the ruckus from the stage, but the slogans of 'Modi-Modi' continued to be raised. After this, AAP supremo Kejriwal said, 'I wish these slogans could have improved the education system, enough would have been done in 70 years. With folded hands, I request both the parties (BJP and AAP) to listen to me for 5 minutes. If you don't like it, chant it later. The video of this incident is also becoming fiercely viral on social media.'  

During this, Arvind Kejriwal also folded his hands in front of the people, but despite this, slogans continued to be raised. During this, Arvind Kejriwal stood quietly for a while holding the mic. Meanwhile, supporters of the AAP supremo started shouting slogans of 'Arvind Kejriwal Zindabad'. After some time, when the atmosphere calmed down, they started to carry forward their talk. So people again created a ruckus. On this, Kejriwal said, 'If you disturb like this, then we can not talk. You may not like some of my ideas, maybe you people feel that what Kejriwal is saying is not true. But, I request you to let me complete it. Making such repeated comments in the middle of a speaker, I think, is not a good thing. '

After this, Kejriwal said that there is democracy in this country and everyone has the right to speak. I am not abusing anyone. I'm doing good things. If you like it, if you don't like it, then it's not right. In December 2014, the then Union HUMAN Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani had laid the foundation stone of the 18.75-acre East Delhi campus of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) and said it would be equipped with modern facilities, including solar panels and geothermal cooling system. There was also a political tussle between the BJP and the AAP over credit, with the BJP saying that Kejriwal was taking credit for the work done by him.
