New Delhi: The Delhi Police has arrested Mohammed Zubair, co-editor of propaganda portal Altnews. Zubair has been charged under Section 153 (acts which may lead to rioting and rioting) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 295 (insulting an object considered sacred by a society). Now, a Delhi court has sent Zubair to one-day police custody. Let us know that Mohammed Zubair is also known for spreading fake news and his media portal is also notorious for Hinduphobic news. Zubair resorts to fake news to incite Muslims against Hindus.

An FIR was also lodged in Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh against AltNews owner Mohammed Zubair and social media platform Twitter in connection with the case. In fact, Mohammed Zubair, while sharing a video in June last year, had alleged that an elderly man named Abdul Samad was forcibly called 'Jai Shri Ram' in Loni, while the accused included the names of Arif, Adil and Mushahid. The case was not found to be communal anywhere in the police investigation. According to the police, there was a scuffle over giving the amulet.

The FIR lodged at Loni police station in Ghaziabad says that the police came to know from reliable sources that a video went viral on social media. In the said video, some people are seen beating a man named Abdul Samad and cutting his beard. According to the FIR, the video was claimed on social media along with the allegations that the accused belonged to the Hindu community, who forcibly called 'Jai Shri Ram' from the elderly man. Those who gave it a communal angle without checking the veracity of the incident include Mohammed Zubair, media portal 'The Wire', Rana Ayyub, Salman Nizami and Saba Naqvi, Saba Mohammed and Maksur Usmani. The FIR mentions the names of all of them.  But, after looking at this case, the question arises, what was the motive for spreading such fake news? Did these people want to see through fake news that Muslims are oppressed in India and that India's image in the world should be tarnished because Pakistan has been levelling similar baseless allegations against India?

The FIR also states that these people were suddenly propagating messages to harm public peace and divide religious groups. Let us know that Mohammed Zubair is the co-founder of the fact-check claiming portal AltNews. At the same time, Rana Ayyub spreads anti-national propaganda by writing for the foreign media. Saba Naqvi is also a senior journalist, but he has also spread fake news on social media. Salman Nizami is a Congress leader. Maksur Usmani was the president of the AMU Students' Union and belongs to Darbhanga.
