Lucknow: An incident of love jihad has come to light in UP's Sangam city of Prayagraj. Here, the Muslim youth hid his religion and married a Hindu woman. Later, the young woman was pressured to convert to the Muslim religion. When the young woman refused to do so, she was beaten up and thrown out of the house. At present, the police have registered a case against the culprit and arrested him.
According to the information received, the 22-year-old girl, a resident of the Naini area of the city, works in a private company. In 2016, she became friends with a boy via Facebook. The boy gave his name as Suresh Pal and said that he works in a finance company. He said that he is a resident of the Kareli area. The closeness between the two grew. The two then got married at the Mankameshwar temple.
Suresh Pal took the young woman and stayed in a rented house. After 20 days of marriage, the boy told the girl that her name was not Suresh, but Mohammed Shami. Upon hearing this, the ground slipped under the girl's feet. The girl alleged that the boy started putting constant pressure on her to change her religion. On being refused, she was assaulted and thrown out of the house. The victim approached the Khuldabad police station to lodge a complaint against the culprit. At first, the policemen kept on pleading for the FIR, but as soon as some BJP workers came to know about it, they demanded that the police file a report. Later, the police registered a case and arrested the culprit. The investigation of the case is currently underway.
