Indian pacer Mohammed Shami  was instrumental in Kings XI Punjab’s come from behind victory against the Delhi Capitals. Due to brilliant performance of  Shami, Delhi lost 7 wickets for just 8 runs as KXIP dismissed them for just 152. Former Australia pacer and KXIP bowling coach Ryan Harris talked about how Shami has emerged as a leader among the bowlers in the squad and said he is one of the best bowler in the world.

Harris told PTI. “I don’t have to work much on him, he does it himself. He has been outstanding around the (KXIP) group, talking about plans, talking to me. Most guys want to pick his brains. If not the best, he is one of the best bowlers in the world at the moment,”  He went on to reveal the reason behind Shami’s meteoric rise in cricket. Shami has shed around 8 kgs during the past year to be able to bowl with pace consistently. And now he is Indian cricket’s premier fast bowler heading into the World Cup. Harris talked about how Shami’s improved fitness has contributed to his success in cricket.

The pacer will look to continue his good form in the IPL as he prepares for the upcoming World Cup in England. He will be an integral part of Virat Kohli's gameplan for the showpiece event and will hope that he continues to deliver for Punjab.
