Jamia Teachers Association and students announced a peaceful demonstration in protest against the Citizenship Act and NRC. But on seeing the situation became uncontrollable and the police fired around twenty to thirty rounds of tear gas and also lathi-charged. Jamia teachers are also supporting this demonstration of students and the teachers union has also protested against the students' assault. The Central University Teachers Association has expressed its displeasure over the assault on students and teachers in JNU, DU, and Jamia, protesting against the demands.
