On Saturday, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat inaugurated the new building of the state RSS headquarters in the Maninagar area of Ahmedabad. The name of this building has been named Dr. Hedgewar Bhawan after the founder of the Union, Sir Sangh Promoter Keshav Baliram Hedgewar. Hedgewar laid the foundation of the RSS in Nagpur in 1925.

According to media reports, a large painting of Bharat Mata has been installed at the main entrance of the building. Bhagwat offered flowers at the feet of Bharat Mata before the inauguration and then inaugurated the five-floor building. The cost of the new building is 5 crores. This building, which was about 50 years old, has been built on the same site after the demolition. The new complex has two basements for parking. There is a large hall on the first floor, two smaller halls on the second and third floors, a library and a living room. After the inauguration ceremony, Bhagwat toured the campus along with local RSS officials.

Bhagwat is on a two-day tour of Gujarat. After the inauguration, we will meet donors and others who have contributed to the construction of the new building. In the evening, he will address a gathering of intellectuals at the city's Dinesh Hall. On Sunday, the Sangh chief will meet and address RSS workers at Transstedia, a private stadium complex in the city's Maninagar area. RSS workers will be present at the ceremony along with their family members.
