New Delhi: The scrutiny of investigative agencies is being tightened on Charlie Peng, a Chinese citizen arrested in the hawala case. Now the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also filed a money laundering case against Charlie. The investigation also revealed that he was not only running the hawala business but was also spying on the Tibetan religion Guru Dalai Lama, who was living in exile in India.

Earlier, another big revelation was made in relation to Charlie Peng, a Chinese citizen arrested in the Hawala Network case. Investigation agencies have come to know that Charlie Peng was in contact with some Lamas in Delhi. The agencies investigating Peng's case suspect that he was collecting information about Dalai Lama and his associates.

Initial investigations have revealed that Charlie Peng had also bribed some lamas and other persons at Majnu Ka Tila in Delhi for this work. Charlie Peng used to contact people through Chinese app 'We Chat' for this task. Majnu has a large population of Buddhists in Tila, so there seems to be a strong suspicion that Charlie Peng had approached the people to collect information about Dalai Lama.
