The ED has filed an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR), considered equivalent to an FIR lodged by the police under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). According to the FIR registered by the police, the Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank scam, which took place between January 1, 2007, and March 31, 2017, allegedly caused a loss of Rs 25,000 crore to the exchequer.
