Monika is the only hockey player from Chhattisgarh selected in the Khelo India talent search program. Monica is a forward player in the team.

Monika Tirkey, a 10th class student belonging to a normal family, got inspired to play hockey from her brother, after which Monika learned the nuances of hockey under the guidance of her passion and Bilaspur hockey. Monika showed her talent by playing in First National Chennai Sub Junior National 2016 17 while Second National 2019 Kollam Junior National, Third National Sub Junior 2019 Sikar Rajasthan, Fourth National Senior 2019 Kollam Kerala and Fifth National Nehru Girls Hockey National Junior Delhi.
