Patna: Monsoon arrived in some parts of the state. This has given some relief to the people. The monsoon has knocked over Purnia, the border district of Bihar. The monsoon is expected to reach Patna by Sunday. The weather is pleasant due to rain and also relief to the patients suffering from Encephalitis and heat wave.

The weather in Nalanda district adjoining Patna also showed a change. BiharSharif received rain with cold winds. The people here got relief from the heat. The weather in Kaimur also changed. It rained at night with a cold wind, bringing down the mercury to 29 degrees. In Sheikhpura too, the weather changed its mood. The met e-in-chief of the state has been given relief from the heat wave. In Bethia, heavy rain lashed several parts of the district with strong winds. The rain in Chanpatia, Narkatiyaganj, Gaunaha, Sikta and Mantad brought relief to the people from the heat.

It is worth mentioning here that Bihar is currently reeling under scorching heat and heat wave. The heat wave has killed 151 people. The district administration has taken strict precautionary measures. In view of the intense heat, the district administration has imposed section 144 in several districts. According to an order issued by the DM, people will have to stay at home from 11 am to 4 pm in view of the scorching heat. Section 144 will remain in force till the weather is normal.
