New Delhi: The Constitution (127th) Amendment Bill has been passed by the Lok Sabha, after which the Bill has been introduced in the Rajya Sabha today (Wednesday). Participating in the discussion on the bill, Congress supported it, but also counted its shortcomings. Congress MP Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that 'it is late, it has come to an end.' Singhvi said the jurisdiction of every state in the country was abolished by bringing an amendment in 2018. It was a wrong decision taken, which is now being amended to correct it and it is very strange that you make a mistake and congratulations also take you.

He said that by bringing these amendments, a mistake is being corrected. But what will be the benefit of correcting this mistake? This Constitutional amendment does not say a word on the 50 percent reservation limit.  Singhvi further said, 'All states will make lists, but what will they do with these lists. These lists will remain just like empty utensils that can only be played, so nothing can be eaten. There are 75 percent states in the country where reservation has gone beyond the 50 percent limit.' Singhvi also said that if the correct figure is there, the actual OBC figure in employment is only 22 percent, most of them in the Group C category.

Singhvi further said that now through this amendment you are giving a paper document to the states and showing a subject that cannot be implemented legally. Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that not only did the government make a mistake in the amendment brought in 2018, the Supreme Court also made a serious mistake. Singhvi said that the Supreme Court ignored its meaning, intention, and purpose.
