Monsoon session Live: OBC Bill to be introduced in Rajya Sabha today, Lok Sabha passes

New Delhi: This is the last week of the monsoon session of Parliament. The Lok Sabha on Tuesday passed a bill empowering states to list OBC without any opposition. Pegasus, the opposition, which has been constantly creating ruckus in the House over the ever-rising prices of agriculture law and petrol and diesel, appeared with the government on the issue OBC. However, the Bill will be introduced in the Rajya Sabha today. It is believed that even here this bill will be passed easily without opposition.

Earlier on Monday, three Bills were passed in the Lok Sabha without discussion, including the Limited Liability Partnership (Amendment) Bill, 2021, the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2021, and the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Amendment) Bill, 2021. Meanwhile, sources are quoting that Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu is likely to take action against opposition MPs who created ruckus in the Upper House on Tuesday. The Rajya Sabha Speaker met Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Leader of the House Piyush Goyal, and other BJP MPs this morning.

A meeting of core group ministers was held under the chairmanship of PM Narendra Modi before Parliament began today. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Patel, Nitin Gadkari, Narendra Singh Tomar, Nirmala Sitharaman, and party president JP Nadda were also present in the meeting.
