Lucknow: Monsoon rains are likely to continue in the northwestern region of the country throughout September. A senior official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that the monsoon from northwest India is likely to exit after the next two weeks. Normally, the monsoon starts departing from these areas of the country from September 17. That is, this is the last week of the 4-month monsoon season.

Uttar Pradesh, which was deficient by 47 per cent during the beginning of this week, received heavy rainfall towards the end of the monsoon on Friday. Rk Jenamani, a senior scientist at the National Weather Forecasting Centre, further said, "This was the first low-pressure system this monsoon season to enter Uttar Pradesh. There were a total of 11 low-pressure systems this monsoon, but all of them moved 300-400 km south of Uttar Pradesh, leading to drought conditions. Heavy rains are likely to continue on Saturday.''

Let us know that due to continuous rains in UP for the last 3 days, kutcha houses or under-construction buildings have collapsed in 6 districts including Lucknow. 20 people lost their lives and many were injured in the grip. The spate of these shocking incidents started from the state capital Lucknow on Friday, when an under-construction wall collapsed in the city at 7.30 am, claiming nine lives. All the nine deceased and two injured are residents of the Jhansi district, who belong to the tribal community.
