New Delhi: The weather has started changing across the country and after a two-day delay, the Southwest Monsoon has entered Kerala on Thursday, following which the country has been hit by a four-month rainy season. The Met department said that now the effect of monsoon will be visible in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, coastal and southern Karnataka, rayalaseema and central and southern parts of Bay of Bengal today or tomorrow.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has said, "The monsoon is expected to move forward in the rest of the South Arabian Sea, parts of the Central Arabian Sea and the rest of Kerala and Lakshadweep by Saturday. This year's monsoon by June 5 may cover parts of Tamil Nadu and puducherry, some parts of coastal and south interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, and some more parts of south and central Bay of Bengal."

The Met department said that rain is likely to occur in north-eastern states during the next five days due to strong south-westerly winds. Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in Arunachal Pradesh during June 4 to 6 and Assam and Meghalaya during June 3 to 7 and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on June 5 and 6. Meanwhile, a fresh western disturbance may cause thundershowers in parts of the western Himalayan region and plains around northwest India during the next 2-3 days.
