Economist Isher Judge Ahluwalia passes away after battle with brain cancer

Economist Isher Judge Ahluwalia, wife of eminent economist Montek Singh Ahluwalia died on Saturday. She was suffering from brain cancer. Isher judge did her PhD from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She earned his B.A. (Eco Hons) from Presidency College, Kolkata. At the same time, he received his MA degree from Delhi School of Economics.

The use of Isher Judge Ahluwalia has been focused on issues of urban development, industrial development, macro-economic reforms and social area development in India. She was a notable participant in several policy battles and wrote various articles. He had resigned from ICRIER last month - Isher Judge Ahluwalia also resigned as chairman of the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) in August due to declining health.

He was also elected chairperson of the annual general meeting on August 8, 2005. He has been replaced by Pramod Bhasin, the current vice-president of the governing board. Along with this, Isher Judge Ahluwalia was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2001 in the field of literature and education by the Government of India. And she will always live in our hearts, may God give peace to her soul.
