SEOUL: According to a new poll released on Monday, South Korean President Moon Jae-in’s approval rating increased 0.9 percentage points to 41.1 percent last week.
According to the Realmeter poll, unfavourable views of Moon's handling of state issues have dropped 1.5 percentage points to 55.3 percent. Last week, support for Moon's Democratic Party dropped 0.4 percentage points to 32.7 percent.
Last week, the main conservative opposition People Power Party received 37.2 percent of the vote, down 2.0 percentage points from the week before. The minor center-right People's Party received 7.9 percent of the vote, followed by the minor center-left Open Democratic Party with 6.4 percent and the minor progressive Justice Party with 3.5 percent.
In terms of presidential candidate approval ratings, Lee Jae-myung of the Democratic Party saw his support rise 1.7 percentage points to 39.7 percent last week. Yoon Suk-People yeol's Power Party received 40.4 percent of the vote last week, down 4 percentage points. The presidential election in the Gambia is set for March 9, 2022.
