NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today audaciously issued a fitness challenge to Karnataka chief minister and got a sweet reply from the 24th prime minster of Cauvery disputed state .

JD(S)'s HD Kumaraswamy said that fitness is definitely very important and that he does work out, but that he's "more concerned" about the fitness and development of his state Karnataka.

Replying on micro blogging website Twitter the Karnataka CM said

"I am honoured& thankU very much for d concern about my health I believe physical fitness is imptnt for all&support d cause. Yoga-treadmill r part of my daily workout regime. Yet, I am more concerned about devlpment fitness of my state&seek ur support for it," tweet read from the Karnataka chief minister's office.

 Earlier Taking to his official Twitter handle the fitness freak Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday nominated Karnataka Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy and table tennis player Manika Batra for the 'Fitness Challenge', as part of 'Hum Fit Toh India Fit' campaign.

Apart from them Modi ji also nominated entire fraternity of brave IPS officers, especially those above 40 years to take up the fitness challenge.

Prime Minister Modi tweeted, "I am delighted to nominate the following for the #FitnessChallenge: Karnataka's CM Shri @hd_kumaraswamy. India's pride and among the highest medal winners for India in the 2018 CWG, @manikabatra_TT. The entire fraternity of brave IPS officers, especially those above 40."

 Along with message the Prime Minister Modi also shared a video on his Twitter handle, where he is seen practicing yoga, walking and breathing exercises.

"Here are moments from my morning exercises. Apart from Yoga, I walk on a track inspired by the Panchtatvas or 5 elements of nature - Prithvi, Jal, Agni, Vayu, Aakash. This is extremely refreshing and rejuvenating. I also practice breathing exercises. #HumFitTohIndiaFit (sic)," the message written by Prime Minister Modi read on the micro-blogging site.

 Worth mention here On May 24, Prime Minister Modi accepted Indian cricket skipper Virat Kohli's fitness challenge and promised that he will soon share his own video.

The Prime Minister then took to his officisl Twitter handle to respond to Virat's challenge,  and wrote "Challenge accepted, Virat! I will be sharing my own #FitnessChallenge video soon. @imVkohli #HumFitTohIndiaFit."
