New Delhi: The country is celebrating the 75th anniversary of independence today. You must all know that the Ministry of Culture had launched a special programme under which people had to sing the National Anthem and upload it. You will be happy to know that 1.5 crore countrymen participated in the programme of singing the national anthem and uploading it on the website by 15th August. The list includes eminent artists, scholars, political leaders, sepoys, famous sportspersons to farmers, labourers, handicapped.
According to a recent statement made by the Ministry of Culture, "On July 25, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called upon the countrymen to sing the national anthem in Mann Ki Baat. It said that at the initiative of the Ministry of Culture, a programme was launched to sing the national anthem and upload it on the website by August 15 and in just 21 days, 1.5 crore countrymen uploaded their sung national anthem on the website.'' Ministry also says "This is also an important step towards Digital India as people have uploaded the national anthem using digital technology."
At the same time, the Ministry of Culture said, "More than 1.5 crore Indians in India and around the world have set records by recording and uploading their videos on this special occasion. This is a testimony to India's inherent unity, strength and harmony.'' Let me tell all of you that the Government had also made it mandatory for all school children to record and upload it. Let us also inform you that the main celebration of Independence Day was as usual from the historic Red Fort and from here Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation. Indian athletes who won medals at the Olympics also attended the ceremony.
