More than 2 cr booster doses given among eligible beneficiaries: Mandaviya

NEW DELHI: According to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, approximately 2 crore precaution doses or third vaccine shots had been delivered to eligible beneficiaries. In addition, nearly 97 percent of the adult population in the country has received their first dose of Covid-19 vaccine.

The minister tweeted, "Over two crore healthcare and frontline personnel, and residents aged 60 and up, have received prophylactic dosages." He also asked that qualified recipients receive their third shot as soon as possible.

As of this morning, the country had administered 2,03,69,898 prophylactic dosages. The Covid-19 inoculation coverage has reached 178.29 crore after over 24.84 lakh doses were administered in the last 24 hours. According to data from the Union Health Ministry, this was accomplished through 2,06,05,684 sessions.

In the previous 24 hours, 6,396 new Covid-19 cases have been recorded. In the same time span, 201 people died as a result of Covid, bringing the total mortality toll to 5,14,589. According to the ministry data, active Covid cases have decreased to 69,897, accounting for 0.16 percent of the country's total positive cases.
