More than 300 Jawans infected as corona wreaks havoc on 'Khaki' in Delhi

New Delhi: More than 300 Delhi Police personnel serving as frontline workers in the battle over the corona epidemic have been found to be infected with corona. In view of the situation, Police Commissioner S.N. Srivastava has asked Jawans to be more careful and follow the SOP. Delhi Police has said, "More than 300 Delhi Police personnel have been found infected with corona while 15 of them are hospitalized and all others are in-home quarantine."

Talking about the situation amidst a sudden uproar in corona cases in the city, Delhi Police Commissioner S.N. Srivastava had said that some of our police personnel have been found positive in the last few days. Health care workers and frontline workers are more exposed to infectious diseases. He has asked all police personnel while on duty to take adequate precautions to protect themselves, take care of social distancing, and wear N95 or three-ply surgical masks.

In the last 24 hours, 16,699 new cases of coronavirus have been reported and 112 deaths have been reported in Delhi. The total number of active cases in Delhi now is 54,309. This is the fifth consecutive day that more than 10,000 new cases have been reported in Delhi. According to a health bulletin issued by the Delhi Health Department on Thursday, 7,84,137 people have been found corona positive in Delhi so far, including 54,309 active cases and 7,18,176 recoverers, and 11,652 deaths.
