Big relief to laborers with special trains, more than 4 million workers reached their homes

New Delhi: About 13 lakh migrant laborers have returned from Gujarat with the help of labor special trains run by Indian Railways. At the same time, according to the railways, this figure has reached 40 lakhs across India. That is, more than 40 lakh migrant workers have left the cities and reached their homes. The Gujarat government has so far run 882 laborers special trains and has sent nearly 13 lakh migrant workers to their home state.

43 more trains have left from Gujarat on Monday night. These 43 trains have left for 68 thousand more migrant workers. Of these 17 are 1 for Uttar Pradesh, 13 Bihar, eight Odisha, three for Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh and Tripura. Out of more than 3000 labor special trains operating across the country, 882 trains have been operated from Gujarat, sending a total of 12.96 lakh workers to their homes. Kumar said that with the provision of food and drinking water for the passengers, all the necessary safety standards are being followed.

By May 24, the North Western Railway transported more than one lakh 38 thousand migrants from different states to their homes by 98 labor special trains. North Western Railway has so far run 98 labor special trains for laborers of other states including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh.
