Lucknow: Everyone is aware today that child marriage is considered a big crime and many people have been booked in this matter, then the same issue has come to light in a village in the area of Sikanderpur Vaishya in Kasganj. The father married his minor daughter to a man twice her age. The mother did not agree with the father's decision and filed a complaint. On the mother's complaint, the police registered a case against the father under the Child Marriage Prohibition Act.
According to the information, the father fixed his 12-year-old daughter's marriage with Saligram (25) son resident Nagla Vihari Patiali. The marriage of the minor daughter was not liked by the mother. Seeing the opposition of the wife, he was not able to get the daughter married. When the time for the wife's pregnancy and delivery came closer, her brother came to call. The wife went to her maternal home with brother.
According to the information received from the same sources, the husband got a chance after the wife went away. Taking advantage of the opportunity, he fraudulently took his daughter to Patiali. Where she got married. When her mother came to know about the daughter's marriage, she told the police against her husband to get the minor daughter married. Police has registered a case against the accused on the basis of the complaint.
After the mother's complaint, the Child Welfare Committee called the father and daughter. At that time the father had also given an affidavit to the committee not to marry her till she becomes an adult.
Mohammad Mian, a member of the Child Welfare Committee, said that it is a legal offense to marry a minor child. Such a marriage is considered invalid. Therefore, the committee will make the marriage void given the future of the girl child. The committee will be kept in full vigil until the girl child attains majority.
