New Delhi: Plastic is very harmful for our environment, therefore plastic is being used very less. Plastic bags found in shops have also been banned in many places. On this side, Mother Dairy has also taken a step. Milk chain Mother Dairy commissioned a 25-feet effigy of Ravana using waste plastic collected from households in Delhi and neighbouring cities, which was later dismantled and sent for recycling

It collected empty packets of about 5000 kg milk from the customers. From these we have prepared 25 feet high Ravan. The company has created this plan because the environment is polluted every year by burning Ravana on Dussehra. So this time we have made Ravan out of plastic packets which do not need to be burnt. This mannequin has been shown to everyone and has been transported for recycling.

This campaign was launched in full swing in Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Faridabad and Ghaziabad on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on 2 October. Along with this, an awareness march was also taken out from the Buddha Jayanti Park. Under this campaign, people were also appealed to make minimum use of plastic.
