Mother's Day is celebrated worldwide on the second Sunday of May every year to honour the mother of the family. This day is also marked as a tribute to motherhood, maternal bonds and the influence of mothers in society. Many sports personalities including former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar,  Chennai Super Kings Cricketers Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh and Badminton player Saina Nehwal posted pictures with their mother with the caption 'Happy Mother's Day'.

Here it is to be noted that even eminent sports personalities like famous women wrestlers Ritu Phogat and Geeta Phogat pistol shooter Heena Sidhu expressed their love for mother on the social media platform. Let us have a look at their posts related to Mother's Day. While we all know that no single day can define our love for our moms. but Mother's day gives us a reason to express it. A few surprise gifts, good food and a day full of love usually comprise Mother's Day.

However, it is worth mention here that the history of Mother's Day dates back to the early 20th century when Ann Reeves Jarvis started the tradition. Mother's love is incomprehensible and unconditional; more importantly, it's difficult to define. However, some of the quotes written on mothers do help us understand what motherhood entails, at least in part. Be it a celebrity or normal person, we all express our love towards our mother on the occasion of Mother's Day. Our presence today is just because of the one female in our life and that is our mother. Today we walk, work and earn a living because our mother has made us capable of doing so.
