The mother and son lost their lives when they were hit by a train coming from Delhi Fatehganj West Police Station area of the district. Government Railway Police (GRP) police station in-charge Vijay Rana said that the GRP, which came to know about the mother and son being hit by the train on Friday evening, seized the bodies of the two and sent them for postmortem. According to police, Rihanna (35), wife of Siraj Ahmed, a resident of Mohalla New Basti in Fatehganj western town, and her 7-year-old son lost their lives when they were hit by the Shramjeevi Express.

Siraj Ahmed says his wife Rihanna was not in a good mental condition and had gone into kinship to get Eid on Friday. He returned home late in the evening and found the house empty. According to Siraj, he stepped out and started a search and found his wife walking on a railway line passing by the locality and her 7-year-old son followed him. At the same time, both of them lost their lives after being cut off by a train coming from Delhi.

According to police, the incident took place about 100 metres east of Bhitaura station. It is learnt that the information and grp police who arrived have seized the two bodies and sent them for postmortem.
