Actually, the film is the story of 83-year-old farmer Vidyadatta Sharma of Sanguda village in Kaljikhal block of Pauri Garhwal district. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat expressed happiness on the film reaching the race for 'Oscar'. He has said in his tweet that, 'It is a matter of great pride that the documentary film Motibagh, on the life struggle of Vidyadatta ji, a farmer of Pauri, has been selected for the Oscar Award. I heartily congratulate the director of the film, Nirmal Chandra Dandariyal, for this effort.
Apart from this, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said, 'This film will inspire the youth of Uttarakhand not to leave their village. Will inspire youth to work for their community. I am sure that this film will end the problem of migration in the state. I appeal to the youth of the state to work to stop the migration and the youth should take advantage of the schemes brought by the state government.
Talking about the story of this film, Nirmal Chandra told that his film is 59 minutes. In this film, many issues including the plight of Uttarakhand farmers, employment, migration, gardening, beekeeping, water conservation are shown. Short film 'Moti Bagh' director Nirmal Chandra Dandariyal and Vidya Dutt Sharma's son Tribhuvan Uniyal Sharma expressed happiness over the film being nominated for the Oscars.
