A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) and the South-Western Railway (SWR) to provide multimodal transit facilities through Yeshwantpur railway and Metro Stations for the convenience of passengers.

BMRCL has said the MoU to is to solve the passengers problem of lack of direct and easy connectivity between railway and metro stations, narrow access roads to the railway station on both east and west side, lack of access to Metro Station for the residents living at the east of the railway station. difficulty in reaching the railway station from areas west of NH-4 Tumkur- Bangalore Road, absence of bus stand nearby and inadequate space for auto stand and limited parking facility. The BMRCL added the new MoU will facilitates the usage of both Metro and SWR by the passengers of both BMRCL and SWR. The plan to construct 82 metre length One-foot over bridge (FoB-1) connecting east side of the railway station to facilitate hurdleless connectivity is made.

The BMRCL is involved in all kind of activities to facilitate easier transportation for the passengers. It is involved in its extension till Kengeri and nearby to Hosur facilitating IT workers and MSME employees a easier mode of transportation. BIOCON has sponsored INR 65 crore towards the construction of a Metro station, footpath near its plant.
