Story: The childhood of Ajatashatru Lavash Patel aka Aja (Dhanush) who lives in Mumbai's Chaul goes through a very interesting turn. Aja, who is keen on his father day and night, has been taught by her mother (Amrita Sant) that he has come to the world on magic, but after going to school, he finds out that they are poor and have no father in the world.
Aja's only dream is to become rich and take his mother to Paris. His washer mother is a single parent and Aja finds out only after his mother's death that his father was Spanish and the same magician who showed magic on the streets.
he gets his father's letter and photo from his mother's belongings. Just after that, he embarks on a journey that introduces him to many interesting places around the world, as well as the strangest people. First, he reaches Paris on the back of a fake hundred euro note, where he finds his love as Marian Moriarty. But he was unable to fulfil his promise to meet Mari at the Eiffel Tower, as things become such that after England and Barcelona he reaches Libya. From here his real story begins.
Review: It's also pleasant to see 'The Extra Ordinary Journey of the Fakir', directed by foreign director Ken Scott because he has focused on the human angle rather than capitalising on India's poverty in the film. In the film, he has also woven the fabric of love and relationships with refugee problems. Like different countries, the film has many colours, which lead the story to the destination according to the title.
Acting: Vincent Mathias's cinematography is a sight to beneath. So far, Dhanush has been seen by Hindi film viewers in films such as 'Ranjhana', 'Shamitabh' and 'VIP', but in 'The Extra Ordinary Journey of Fakir', he has managed to entertain the audience from every angle as a contrast to his cinematic image.
Aja's chemistry with Maa (Amrita Sant) and pet cow Mohini has become amazing. Amrita Sant has been able to maintain the spontaneity of her role. Erin Moriarty, Bernie Bejo, Abel Jaffrey, etc. have done a great job according to their characters. Harti Singh's fickleness and innocence as Bal Aja give a discolouration to the story.
Why watch: Feel good and travel movies buffs can watch this movie.
