BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan who foundally known as ‘Mama’ on Friday slipped up while addressing to inspire school students and counted megastar Amitabh Bachchan among the “icons who have low educational degrees yet achieved extraordinary success”.

In the season of election, Congress got fodder to attack MP CM and termed this slip tongue error an insult to “Bhopal’s jamai” the capital of MP is the native place of Jaya Bachchan.

In his address CM Chouhan was trying to motivate students of Class XII who scored less than 70%. After talking about Kalidas, the great poet who once tried to cut the very branch on which he was set, the CM went on to talk about Nobel awrdee Rabindranath Tagore, who rejected formal schooling, and cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, who performed poorly in exams.

But MP CM added George W Bush, who, in reality, is a Harvard graduate and the only US President to have an MBA, and Amitabh Bachchan, who is a pass out of Sherwood College and Kirorimal College.

“You all must have heard of Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, the one who hosts Kaun Banega Crorepati. He did not have any good formal education degrees. He was once rejected by Akashvani due to his voice, but today he is famous because of his voice,” the CM quoted by TOI as saying at the career counseling programme.
