Bhopal: Raids were conducted by the Income Tax Department on Digiana Group and Kautilya Academy during which the department has achieved great success. As part of the information received, the documents received by the team of the department during the raid are suspected to conceal the income of about Rs 200 crore by the group, out of which about 150 crore have come from illegal sale of sand by the group. Let me tell all of you that after examining these documents, the Department will collect tax along with penalty if the actual figure of undisclosed income comes to light.
During the raid by Digiana Group, the department also got a large property lender from Banda in Uttar Pradesh in the hands of the team. After all this, the Department has initiated action with him also. It has come to light that the said person has disbursed fake loans to Digiana as well as many people. There are benami loans for many properties. In such a situation, the department has started clamping down on him. On the other hand, a senior official of the department says, "Digiana Group has 35. Bogus shares worth Rs.36 crore were also purchased.
This transaction is under investigation. The groups are active in media, education, mining as well as other businesses. The digiana group operator is said to have received cash of 2.5 crore rupees from his home and office in Indore and locations in other cities including Bhopal. At the same time, 2dozen lockers have been found in banks, most of which are in Indore. Now the department is starting to open these lockers. Let us also tell all of you that a team of 150 officers and employees of the Income Tax Department carried out raids at 55 locations of Digiana Group and Kautilya Academy last Thursday morning.
