Gaurav Gogoi, a National Congress politician and Kaliabor MP from Assam, tested positive for Covid and has been quarantined for the required duration.

"I have tested positive for COVID-19.  I'm isolating myself. I'm experiencing just minor symptoms. All persons who have had contact with me in the previous few days are asked to check their symptoms and, if required, be tested "In a blog post, the Congress Leader added. Gaurav Gogoi recently took to Twitter to voice his disappointment with the state government's decision to limit Bihu festivities while allowing electioneering for local body elections.

"Assam's new SOP has closed schools and restricted Bihu festivities, but the state administration has left election campaigning for the local Thengal Kachari Autonomous Elections unaffected," Gaurav tweeted.
