Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh's Shivraj Singh Chouhan government has now introduced 27 percent reservation for backward classes in government recruitments and examinations. Yes, under the information received, an order has now been issued by the Department of General Administration for the same. According to the same order, the decision will come into effect from 2019, though the order has so far only made it clear that the order will be applicable in all recruitment and examinations except for the examinations and recruitments on which the case is going on in the High Court.

Let me tell all of you that recently, Minister of Urban Development and Housing Bhupendra Singh said, "The Advocate General of the Government had opined that the High Court is currently staying the Teacher Recruitment Examination 2018, recruitments of health department from PSC and PG Medical Examination. Therefore, this decision of reservation will be implemented in all examinations except these.''

Bhupendra Singh also took a dig at the Congress. In fact, taking a dig at the Congress's attempt to take credit for the OBC reservation, he said, "The Congress has only played politics over the OBC reservation.'' At the same time, he further said, "The anti-backward face of the Congress is once again exposed. The Kamal Nath government in the Assembly and high courts reported only 27% of the OBC population in the state instead of 51%. As a result, the court had stayed reservation for 100 percent of the population. Congress is not pro-OBC, so it did not move the Supreme Court against the high court stay.''

Let me tell you that earlier on 1st September, the Madhya Pradesh High Court had categorically refused to lift the ban on OBC reservation. A double bench of Chief Justice Mohammad Rafique and Justice VK Shukla, while hearing the petitions concerned, had issued directions for a final hearing refusing to lift the ban on OBC reservation. Now, Minister Bhupinder Singh has said that the OBC category will get 27 percent reservation in all examinations and jobs except the ban imposed by the High Court on this reservation in three examinations. Let me tell you that now 21 percent reservation for ST and 17 percent reservation for SC sc has now been made in the State.
