Love Jihad law: Young man arrested in case of pressuring woman to change religion

Bhopal: A woman in the city had lodged a complaint in the Love Jihad case. On his complaint, MP Police has arrested one person under the new law (Madhya Pradesh Religious Freedom Act i.e. Love Jihad Law).  The woman is accused of defrauding her and is now trying to change her religion. Talking about the case, the police said the accused and the woman were in a love affair. Both of them knew each other for many years. In the meantime, the accused hid his true identity from the woman.

The accused gave the woman a wedding hoax and sexually abused her. After that, as soon as the identity of the accused was revealed, the young woman made a distance from her. Now the young woman has told the police in her complaint that the accused was making a change of religion and pressurizing her for marriage. The young woman, who has been constantly threatened by the accused in the case, has registered a case in the Bhopal police station. According to reports, the police registered a case against the boy under sections 3 and 5 of the Madhya Pradesh Code of Religious Freedom 2020.

At the same time, a case has also been filed under other sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Regarding the case, Rajesh Singh Bhadoria, SSP Zone 2, Bhopal said, "The accused hid his identity from the victim and later, the victim knew his real name. The accused then assaulted the victim and harassed him.''
