Bhopal: The counting of votes for the Madhya Pradesh body elections has begun. For a while, its trends will start coming. Polling has been held for 133 bodies in this phase. The results of all the seats will be out by the evening. Polling has been held for 11 municipal corporations, 36 municipalities and 86 municipal councils in this phase. These elections are being seen as a direct contest between the BJP and Congress. That is why Congress seems to be cautious about the mess.

Congress has deployed its senior leaders in different areas. Former Chief Minister Kamal Nath himself is in command to prevent disturbances. The Congress said Kamal Nath's helicopter will stand ready, and every attempt of the BJP to make a mess will be foiled. These 133 seats in the first phase went to the polls on July 6. Due to this, 61% of the individuals exercised their franchise. Of the 61 per cent polling in the first phase, Ratlam, Dewas and Agar Malwa recorded over 80 per cent voting, while in Bhopal, only 51 per cent of voters exercised their franchise. Indore and Ujjain recorded 76 per cent and 76.60 per cent polling respectively.

In this election, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Chouhan took the lead from the BJP side, while Kamal Nath was seen taking over the command from the Congress side. Kamal Nath also appeared aggressive toward the BJP at times. The former chief minister also accused the BJP of using the state machinery and money to its advantage. Kamal Nath said, "I have been getting many calls that the administration is being pressured. If they had the support of the people, would they need these things? Shivraj's false statements have upset the public. Now, 50 rupees have been increased on domestic gas. Recently, 5 per cent GST on flour and cheese was increased. I have faith in the people of the state.''
