Gwalior: A woman from Gwalior city of Madhya Pradesh has appealed to CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan for help. The woman's husband broke her arms and legs by beating her for only 25 thousand rupees. When the woman lodged a case in the police station, the police released the criminal by registering an FIR under minor sections. Thereafter, the 30-year-old victim, Laxmi reached the public hearing of the police on Tuesday. She had a plaster on her hands and feet. Here she complained to the officers about the harassment of her husband. The officers assured of strict action. After this, she also appealed to CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Weeping, she asked the Chief Minister for how long the women would continue to be beaten for dowry and they would continue to die. Laxmi told- I live in Jiwajiganj Satyanarayan Tekri present in Janakganj. I was married 12 years back to Chhotu Batham. At the time of marriage, the father had given a dowry of lakhs of rupees including gold and silver jewelery and household items, but even after this, for many years, the husband keeps beating me every day. Tortures me mentally. On October 3, my husband forced me to bring 25 thousand rupees from my father's house. I was upset due to repeated demands for money. When I opposed this, the dowry greedy husband beat me with sticks and rods. I suffered a severe head injury and broke my arms and legs.
Laxmi told when my husband beat me mercilessly, my family members complained against him in the police station. The police registered a case under minor sections while making a false claim. This boosted my husband's spirits even more. He started troubling me continuously. Due to serious injuries, I was undergoing treatment in the hospital for several days. I was helpless My father brought me to the SP office. This is my request to the police officers and CM that strict action should be taken against my husband and negligent policemen. At the same time, Laxmi's father told that the police are not deliberately taking action in this case. After that, Additional SP Gajendra Singh Vardhaman ordered the investigation into this matter as well as directed the Janakganj police station in-charge to increase the sections at the earliest on the basis of the medical report.
