Mumbai University has extended the deadline for conducting the end semester examinations for the final year students. As per the media reports, the university has permitted for the exams to be held until January 9, 2021, for all the courses.

According to the earlier notice, though, the deadline to complete the examinations was December 31, 2020. However, teachers along with college principals had complained that the mandatory 90 teaching days were not met since the academic session had commenced late due to the pandemic and lockdown.

The degree college teachers have also suggested for the first year exams to be postponed to the end of January 2021. 

Change in the Exam pattern

Mumbai University reports also suggest that there may be changes in the exam pattern and add more questions in the MCQ format. The exams will be conducted in an online mode and will also include mandatory digital supervision. Cases of malpractice will be dealt with strictly. 

The university had earlier decided to conduct the end semester exams in December 2020 but have been postponed since. The university also plans to change the exam pattern for the professional courses including Engineering and Law. A confirmation on the same is however not available.
