New Delhi: It has been more than 1.5 years since the Corona pandemic has wreaked havoc across the world. Instead of eliminating this virus from the world, the reverse is becoming more and more dangerous. The reason behind this is the presence of different variants of the virus. The World Health Organization (WHO) has now started tracking another new corona variant.

The B.1.621 variant named Mu first surfaced in January this year. Four thousand cases linked to this variant have been registered in more than 40 countries of the world. The concern about the Mu variant is that according to the World Health Organization (WHO), it can neutralize the vaccine and can be extremely contagious. WHO says this variant requires further study to understand the severity.

WHO described it as a variant of concern. The WHO report reported that the Mu variant was found in Colombia in January 2021. During this time, some cases of Mu variants were seen. On the other hand, the variant reached countries in South America and Europe as well as other countries. Globally, its cases have declined and are less than 0.1 percent.
