In fact, more than 2,000 cases have been recorded here. With this, the state has now become a new hotspot for mucomycosis. The Central Government says that 2,281 cases of black fungus have been reported in Gujarat so far. This figure is the highest for any State in the country. At present, the government is not giving any proper statement on the death, but sources have claimed more than 250 deaths in the state. Moreover, the highest number of cases are said to have come from Ahmedabad, Surat and Rajkot.
