Srinagar: A young artist from South Kashmir's Kulgam district has made his name in the Asian and Indian Book of Records with his extraordinary talent. Mudasir Rehman Dar, 26, from Kulpora village in Kulgam, has achieved this feat by making the smallest painting of the holy Kaaba on a ring and a leaf, the first in Jammu and Kashmir.

Mudasir said he had been interested in painting since childhood but could not get much boost due to lack of a suitable platform. He said he was far behind in achieving his goals. He is the first artist from Kashmir to appear in the Indian Book of Records in Asia. 'I have a unique style of painting and painting on the theme around me and 100 per cent fundamental in nature,' he told the media.

Mudasir finally turned to social media for not getting the stage, which earned him fame. He said that "I make abstract paintings and paintings and while I was longing for a stage, social media provided me with a platform and my work began to be focused on." Although Mudasir works on various subjects, his main objective is to focus on the menace of drug abuse, child labour and other social evils in society as well as social evils through his artwork.
