Recently, the name of  chairman and MD of India’s largest private sector enterprise Reliance Industries Ltd appeared into top 10 of the billionaires in the world for the first time ever in Hurun Global Rich List 2019.  With this Ambani became the first Indian to feature in the top 10 rich list of global billionaires compiled by Hurun and interestingly, Ambani is the only Asian person in the top 10 list.

As per the report Hurun Global Rich List of 2019, Mukesh Ambani’s net worth has been estimated at a whopping $54 billion, rose by $9 billion from last year. However, according to other global benchmarks which keep a live record of the world’s billionaires, Mukesh Ambani is not included in the top 10 list. As per the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Mukesh Ambani features as the richest Indian and Asian on 12th place with an estimated net worth of $47.8 billion, as on March 3, 2019. Mukesh Ambani net worth in INR translates into an amount of Rs 3,38,997.6 crore as per the INR vs USD rate of 70.92 on Friday's closing.

According to the chart available with Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Mukesh Ambani’s net worth touched an all-time high of $50.7 billion on August 28, 2018. Notably, On August 28, 2019, Reliance Industries share price registered a record closing high of Rs 1,319 on National Stock Exchange of India Ltd (NSE). Reliance Industries shares closed at Rs 1,225 on Friday, March 1, 2019.
