Mumbai: Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani on Tuesday said that the government has been urged to formulate a fast policy to shift 30 crore 2G mobile users to smartphones. Mukesh Ambani said that the government will have to formulate a concrete policy soon in order to free 30 crore Indians from 2G and shift them to smartphones.

Mukesh Ambani, the owner of Reliance Jio, the country's leading telecom company, addressed the Fourth India Mobile Congress (IMC) today, expressing concern over the condition of 300 million Indians who are still forced to use 2G technology in the digital world. . He has requested the government to take concrete steps in this direction so that these consumers can benefit from the country's digital economy.

Praising the digital mission of PM Modi, Mukesh Ambani termed it as the digital lifeline of the country amid the covid era. Appreciating the efforts of the government, Mukesh said that the country will soon get its iron in hardware along with software. Indicating preparations to launch indigenous 5G technology in the second half next year, Reliance chairman said that Jio's indigenous 5G technology is a witness to the success of PM Modi's self-reliant India mission.
