New Delhi: Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), the country's largest industrialist Mukesh Ambani's company, has bought Britain's prestigious country club and luxury golf resort, Stoke Park, for 5.70 crore pounds (approximately Rs 592 crore). The acquisition of RIL is taking place with the existing acquisition staked out in its Abaroy Hotel and the hotel-organized residential facilities being built by it in Mumbai.

RIL has announced a $3.3 billion acquisition over the last four years. Out of this, 14 percent has been made in retail, 80 percent in technology, media, and telecom while the remaining six percent have been invested in the energy sector. Reliance said in a regulatory notice sent on Thursday evening that UK-based Stoke Park will be part of its consumer and hospitality property sector. The company has ownership rights over a hotel and golf course in Buckinghamshire, UK.

"Reliance Industrial Investments and Holdings Limited (RIIHL), a wholly-owned company of Reliance Industries Limited, has acquired the entire paid-up share capital of Stoke Park Limited, a UK-based company, on April 22, 2021," the regulatory notice said. The acquisition was made for 5.70 million pounds. ''
