Mukesh Ambani said that the main motivation behind starting Reliance Jio is his father Dhirubhai Ambani who came to Mumbai with a few dreams with only one thousand rupees. He told how Jio has become the largest network of the country after the initial success.

Significantly, Dhirubhai Ambani, son of a school teacher, reached Mumbai with only one thousand rupees about 60 years ago. He built a business empire. Former bureaucrat and BJP leader N.K. Mukesh Ambani told the Reliance success story while addressing the release program of Singh's book 'Portrait of Power: Half a Century of Being at Ringside'.

He also told how Jio has become the largest network in the country after the initial success. Mukesh told that his father Dhirubhai Ambani was the son of a school teacher. He came to Mumbai with a few dreams with only one thousand rupees and believed that those who invest in future business and right talent can fulfil their dreams. He also stated that his father always insisted on adopting new technology and that is why Reliance Group moved into the telecom business moving beyond petrochemical, textile and Reliance Jio Infocomm (Jio) was born.
