The actor Mukesh Khanna, best known for his roles as Shaktimaan and Bhishma Pitamaha, has always been a proponent of publicly airing his views on a variety of subjects. Adipurush, which stars Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan, Kriti Sanon, and Sunny Singh, recently released its teaser, and it appears that Mukesh Khanna is not happy with how the characters are portrayed or how the story is being presented. Following the viewing of the teaser, Mukesh uploaded a video to his Bheeshm International YouTube channel expressing his displeasure with "Adipurush."

In a video on YouTube, Mukesh responded to the Adipurush teaser and criticised Saif Ali Khan. He said, "Saif Ali Khan had proudly shared that 'I'm doing Raavan's role and I'm going to make this character humorous. It's acceptable; it's each actor's right and domain to take on any role and give it his or her own unique interpretation. However, if you claim that you are making Ramayan, it is obvious that you are abusing the holiday and the devotional sentiment that surrounds it. A real Hindu will undoubtedly be surprised to learn this if you claim that you want to alter Raavan's personality. Comparable to me what kind of person are you to alter how our character?"

Speaking of the other characters, Mukesh said that none of them appear to be the same as themselves and that the portrayal of them in Adipursh is also suspect. Furthermore, he said, "We can't prevent you from changing your movie. If you have 400–600 crores, you can spend them to make this movie. However, if you alter the characters' appearances, I want to warn you that your movie won't succeed because you are manipulating the audience's perceptions by claiming to be making a Ramayan adaptation." If you're making a movie about such subjects, keep the audience's belief and the image of the story intact, he continued.

The Shaktimaan actor added, "Ravan doesn't look like Saif Ali Khan's character; Ravaan looks more like Mohammad Khilji." He has a Mughal-style appearance. Are you being ironic? Excuse me for being blunt, but the movie won't be a success and people will react. Ramayan cannot be produced with VFX or by spending $100 to $1 billion. It is based on beliefs, personas, acting, dialogue, and appearance. However, don't say you are making Ramayan if you want to make it like Avatar. Stop referring to Ramadan here. He added that this will undoubtedly cause a reaction from people, and the outcome won't be good.

I want to warn the educated and wealthy people, he says, "don't use your money to change our rituals, religion, or epics."

Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan, Kriti Sanon, and Sunny Singh all have significant parts in Om Raut's Adipurush. It depicts the victory of good over evil in the mythological film Adipurush, which is based on the epic Ramayana. In Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, it is scheduled to be released on January 12, 2023. The upcoming movie is being made by the Retrophiles collective, which also includes Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar, and Rajesh Nair.
