On Saturday, Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, Minister of State (MoS) for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, celebrated Bhai Dooj at the former's home. On this occasion, Naqvi sent his best wishes to the entire country, noting that traditions and festivals like these contributed to the country's status as "Ek Bharat, Shresth Bharat."

"Every year, Sadhvi Ji comes to see me and blesses me, whether it's for Raksha Bandhan or Bhai Dooj. This means a lot to me, and I appreciate it "he explained. Bhau Beej and Bhathru Dwithiya are other names for Bhai Dooj. Goddess Yamuna is said to have fed her brother Yamraj Kartik Dwitiya at her home, according to Hindu legend. Yama Dwitiya is the name given to this day since then.
