Lucknow: Former Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA Mukhtar Ansari, who is lodged in Banda jail in Uttar Pradesh, is reported to be ailing. He was admitted to the medical college. However, the problem could not be clearly revealed. Those who had granted Mukhtar bail in a deadly attack case today have now withdrawn their bail.
The court has ordered that the accused Mukhtar be taken into custody again. Mukhtar Ansari was booked for assault and criminal conspiracy in Ghazipur in 2009. Ansari was granted bail by the High Court on August 28, 2010, in that case. There were reports of Ansari's health deteriorating suddenly, there was no significant revelation of the disease but Mukhtar was treated amidst tight security. He was treated by a four-member team including a dental specialist at the medical college. Then they were sent back to jail at 4:30 p.m. Jail superintendent AK Singh said Mukhtar Ansari had a toothache for a long time. He had also complained about it during his appearance in the MP-ML court. 4 days ago, an order came from the court that he should be treated by a dentist.
In view of this, he was taken to Banda Medical College at 3 pm on Tuesday after the security arrangements were completed where treatment lasted for about 40 minutes. He was brought back to jail at 4.30 pm. Earlier, some reports had reported that Ansari's condition was critical. Ansari's health is said to have deteriorated today and higher authorities were informed about the same. Thereafter, security immediately reached and Ansari was admitted to the medical college. Police and PAC teams were also deployed in the medical college. However, it is now learned that the investigation was about their toothache.
