Kolkata: Mukul Roy, who quit the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and joined the BJP, has reached the TMC headquarters to meet West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata. Speculations have intensified over Mukul Roy's return to the Trinamool Congress even before he met Mamata Banerjee.

On June 2, Trinamool MP and Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee rushed to the hospital to see Mukul Roy's ailing wife. Since then, there has been speculation that the political equation could change. It may be recalled that Mukul Roy had not even attended a meeting convened by the West Bengal BJP in Kolkata recently. However, some time ago Mukul Roy had dismissed speculation sworn in to go to TMC and described himself as a BJP soldier.

Tell us that Mukul Roy was general secretary in trinamool congress (TMC) before joining BJP. Mukul Roy joined the BJP in 2017 and is currently the BJP's Rajya Sabha MP. Meanwhile, his nephew Abhishak Banerjee has recently been appointed general secretary of the party by TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee.
