Multiple tragedies: Bus Catches Fire In Rayagada, Mini Bus Falls Into Odisha-Andhra Border

Orissa-Rayagada: Property worth lakhs of rupees including important documents of passengers were destroyed after the bus they were travelling in caught fire on the outskirts of Rayagada town in the district last night.

As per reports, the bus was on its way from Kosagumuda in Nabarangpur district to Polsara of Ganjam district when the mishap occurred. By the time the fire brigade from Rayagada was able to douse the flames the bus was completely gutted.

The passengers blamed that they had noticed some problem with the bus on the way but the bus staff ignored them. The bus was just five kilometres away from Rayagada town when its tyre caught fire. The passengers were able to save their lives but had to leave behind their luggage which included various documents and certificates of some students and job aspirants travelling on the bus. While they demanded compensation for their loss, the bus driver and conductor had fled from the spot.

In another incident, a Mini Bus Falls Into Odisha-Andhra Border Gorge, which caused 4 death Including 2 Women, 1 Kid.  The minibus they were travelling in plunged into 80 feet Anantagiri gorge under Visakhapatnam district in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh (AP). Reports said that the four casualties include two women, a male passenger and a child.

In his condolence message, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “Distressed to hear about the accident in Visakhapatnam, AP. Condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. Prayers with the injured. May they recover soon: PM @narendramodi”
