Mumbai: Corona epidemic in Maharashtra is not freezing. This deadly virus killed an employee of Brihan Mumbai Metropolitan Municipality (BMC) on Wednesday. This 49-year-old BMC staff was found corona infected, after which he died on his way to the hospital. He was posted as Inspector in the Assessment Department of BMC.

This BMC employee was associated with the Mission Dharavi operation and was involved in the ration distribution team. He is the first front line worker to die of the Coronavirus in Mumbai. He informed about his illness on April 23 and underwent pneumonia treatment at a private clinic in Borivali. His samples were taken on Monday and he died while going from Borivali to Kasturba Hospital.

On giving information, a BMC official said that the ration distributing team has to go deep inside the slum areas of Dharavi. This area comes under the Containment Zone. Earlier, two policemen died in Mumbai due to Coronavirus. Many doctors and nurses have also been found corona infected, who are undergoing treatment in various hospitals.
